Fair created oportunity for local companies in the logistics and professional services sector to sell their services.

WILLEMSTAD – April 2-4 2013, Foundation for Development of Logistics Industry (Stichting Ontwikkeling Logistieke Sektor) in cooperation with The Curacao Chamber of Commerce & Industry made it possible for Curacao to participate for the 3rd consecutive year at the South American Logistics Fair “Intermodal” in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Intermodal, the biggest event in the logistics area in South America, accounts every year for more than 28.000 squared meter in space for exhibitions, approximately 45.000 visitors, and more than 450 companies, institutions and destinations that expose their product or services.

Like previous years, Curacao was present as the only stand out of the Caribbean region with the slogan, “Connecting Markets”. Minister of Economic Development Dr. Steven Martina was one of the speakers at the seminar “ Infra Portos” that opened the fair and that spoke about the problems and opportunities in the logistics world. This year the following companies and institutions participated in the fair: Curacao Airport Holding, Curaçao Ports Authorities, Curacao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Insel Air International, Foundation for Development of Logistics Industry (SLS), Ministry of Economic Development(MEO), Axtor, Curinde, Curaçao Tourist Board, Curaçao Drydock Company and Curoil.

Curacao gave a presentation to more than 30 important entrepreneurs of the Center for Industries of Sao Paulo (CIESP) to show them the possibilities for Curacao being a connection for them to expand their markets.

Participants met with different important contacts during the 3 days of the fair, enhancing the potential for business opportunities between Curaçao and Brazil.

Participants at the fair also had the opportunity to win a stay in Curacao thanks to the other important sponsors that contributed such as Avila Hotel, Sunscape Curacao, Avianca, Tropical Tours, Hilton Curacao and Santa Barbara Resort.
