Willemstad- Recently, the Chamber of Commerce started presenting the findings of the research "Curaçao with an eye on Exporting Services" as well as the survey results "Advancing Export of Services" to a large number of service companies. These companies participated in the survey previously held during the period 17 October to 16 November.

The Chairman of the Chamber, Billy Jonckheer, emphasized that the Chamber uses its various networks to facilitate local companies to identify new growth opportunities in foreign markets. Curaçao has proven itself by exporting its services which deliver significant added value to foreign customers, as evidenced by the export volume in 2012 of total ANG 2.5 billion.

During the conference, Russel Clark, CEO of IBIS Management, shared his experiences with the attendees. The core of his argument is that from an initial setback, lessons should be learned and then be able to grow into an international company. Satisfied clients can be decisive for the success of a company. It also shows that although Curaçao only represents a relatively small insular economy, still various companies have provided evidence that they are able to offer a high quality product and an exceptionally high quality service that is certainly not inferior to international competition.

In his turn Dennis Dare, Chamber of Commerce economist, discussed the results of a comparative study on the export of services to identify new opportunities and growth for local service. Both the world's export giants such as the results of the online survey were discussed. A follow-up session will be held early this year. The aim is to form together with interested, business owners the right partnership to expand Curacao’s export volume.

Entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the survey can still do so by contacting Mr. Steven Damiana, Department Manager Investment Promotion and Business Activities, or Dennis Dare, economist of the Chamber. You can click here to participate, or visit Facebook.com / EmpresaChiki or Facebook.com / Curacao Chamber where you will find a link to the survey on the post "Advancing Export of Services Questionnaire" dated on October 28, 2013.
